Cabex, the largest international exhibition of cable and wire products in Russia, was held with great success from March 16 to 18, 2021 at the new exhibition place – Expocentre.
The international exhibition Cabex 2021 became an event for the Russian cable market, a platform where for 3 days were focused, complementing each other: new products of the participants - on the stands, industry expertise and knowledge-within the framework of the business program events, long-awaited meetings and effective direct communication - on each square meter of the exhibition.

Exhibition exposition
Cabex returned on a large scale - in three halls of Pavilion 8 of the Expocentre, on an area of 6,000 square meters. 140 manufacturers and suppliers took part of exhibition of cables, wires, electrical materials and equipment for its production.
The participants of the exhibition were, as always, representative – among the exhibitors were leading manufacturers and suppliers: "Cable Alliance Holding", "Agrokabel", "Energokabel", "United Energy Company", "Kama Cable Plant", "Saranskkabel", "Spetskabel", "Tsvetlit", "Uralelectromed", "KAMKAT", "OKB KP", "Smolensk Cable Plant", "Chuvashkabel", "Moskabelmet", "Belaruskabel", "UNKOMTECH", "Tomsk Cable Plant" and many others.
This year 35 companies debuted at Cabex. Among the new participants of the exhibition: "Makeyevsky Cable Plant", "Chuvashkabel", EGEKABLO, "Estrokom", "MosVtorMet", "Polymeralyans", "OBO Bettermann", BERKAND, BOZDEMIR, AGC Chemicals RUS, "Emilink","Energomir","Severskkabel" and other companies.
Despite the temporary restrictions on entry into the Russian Federation, which continued to apply to a number of countries and categories of citizens, Cabex was not left without the participation of foreign companies – 19 exhibitors from Turkey, China, the Republic of Belarus, Poland and Switzerland took part in the exhibition.
Cabex 2021 was rich for new products and premieres – visitors of the exhibition were able to get acquainted with the latest cable and wire products and samples of unique cables from "UNKOMTECH", new products of its own brand "TOFLEX®" from "Tomskkabel", new developments of cables and wires from "Kama Cable", new cable within the framework of the Spacewire project from "Spetskabel", new extrusion equipment from Erocarb SA, as well as many other advanced developments of the participating companies.
Exhibition visitors
Cabex 2021 was really long-awaited for the Russian cable market, and the expectations were definitely met – the exhibition caused great interest from the specialists who responsible for the selection of cable and wire products, as well as materials and equipment for its production.
During 3 days 4 038 specialists from 65 regions of Russia visited the Cabex exhibition. Herewith, the key quality indicators of both the exhibition as a whole and its visitor audience showed growth.
The number of visitors per 1 company participating in the exhibition increased by 21% compared to 2019, and the number of visitors per 1 square meter of exhibition space increased by 14%.
Positive dynamics were also achieved in the quality level of visitors, which is the key to the commercial effectiveness of participation for exhibitors. Thus, the share of buyers-visitors who came to the exhibition to search for goods was 42% - this is 3 percentage points higher than in 2019. The number of buyers per 1 company participating in the exhibition increased by 24%.
The share of top managers – managers, deputy heads of companies and heads of departments – reached 68%. In turn, the share of visitors influencing the decision-making on the purchase of products presented at Cabex 2021 was 95%.
The share of regional visitors increased – there were 29% of them at Cabex 2021. The exhibition was visited by specialists from 65 Russian regions.
In addition to the wide geography, this year's Cabex exhibition particularly pleased the exhibitors with the number and proportion of new visitors – those who did not attend the exhibition in 2019. Their number increased by 16%, and the share reached 58%, an increase of 10 percentage points compared to the previous exhibition.
All this was logically reflected in the feedback received from the exhibitors, for many of whom such a level of business activity at the event and the commercial effectiveness of participation were a pleasant surprise.

All 3 days during Cabex exhibition a rich business program were accompanied – the scientific and technical conference "Cable Industry for the branches of the Russian economy", the events of which aroused great interest from the visitors.

On the final day of the exhibition and conference, a round table "Ecomonitoring: control of harmful emissions for the cable industry" was held. The event was moderated by Vladislav Kudryavtsev, General Manager of the European-Russian Business Association ERBA.
