The only in Russia Cabex 2017 International Exhibition for Cables, Wires, Fastening Hardware and Installation Technologies took place in Moscow on 21—23 March. The exhibition was organised by ITE Group of Companies, All-Russian Research Institute for Cable Industry (VNIIKP), and Electrocable Association.
In 2017, this unique cable industry exhibition project was held for the 16th time and attracted a lot of attention on the part of representatives of energy, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering, construction, oil and gas, mining, telecommunications and of the sectors. The number of attendees in 2017 amounted to 4,293, 9% above the respective number in 2016. Meanwhile, the share of potential buyers reached 71%. Cabex 2017 attendees represented 35 countries and 66 Russian regions.
The area of the exhibition grew by 10% — 131 companies from 8 countries took part in Cabex 2017. These include both such Russia’s major manufacturers of cabling and wiring products as Kamskiy Kabel, Podolskkabel, Sevkabel Group, Cable Alliance Holding, and Moskabelmet Group and the leading international companies, including LEONI Group, Nexans and Prysmian Group that came back to the exhibition with large booths after a long break. The Russian market of cabling and wiring products is showing signs of recovery contributing to the global leaders’ decision to take part.
The participants’ booths displayed the full range of manufactured products and new products and presented the properties of safe cabling and wiring products. Attendees were provided with an opportunity to hold negotiations with the leading plants’ management in person.

It was the first time this year that Cabex offered both a wide range of products in participants’ booths and an impressive business programme. Over 400 delegates took part in the First All-Russian Cable Congress that, as early as in its first year, proved to be a major business event in the cabling industry both in terms of scale and range of the issues. Over the two days of its work, 24 speakers partook in its plenary discussions, over 50 reports were presented at five sessions.
The Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company served as the Congress General Partner. United Energy Company served as the Congress Strategic Partner, and Kamskiy Kabel — as the Congress Partner. The list of Section partners included Maillefer Group, Lapp Group, Cable Alliance Holding, Zavod Energokabel, Rosendahl Nextrom, NIEHOFF, Moskabelmet Group, and Bashplast.
In 2018, the 17th Cabex International Exhibition for Cables, Wires, Fastening Hardware and Installation Technologies will be held on 20—22 March in ECC Sokolniki, Pavilion 4.
