The expansion of infrastructure projects, data centers, and power grid modernization is creating new demand for cable and wire products.
The cable industry is entering another phase of transformation. Despite ongoing economic uncertainty, demand for advanced cable solutions continues to be supported by large-scale infrastructure projects, the growth of the digital economy, the construction of data centers, the modernization of power grids, and the adoption of new energy technologies.
At the same time, the industry faces several major challenges, including high copper prices, rising production costs, the need to modernize manufacturing facilities, and increasing competition.
According to industry analysts, investment in the energy sector and digital infrastructure remains one of the key drivers of market growth.
The construction of data centers, expansion of power distribution networks, modernization of electricity infrastructure, transport systems, and telecommunications all require significant volumes of cable and wire products. Demand is growing not only for conventional power cables but also for specialized solutions designed for applications with stringent requirements for reliability, safety, and service life.
Copper prices continue to have a significant impact on the industry.
High global copper prices are increasing production costs, prompting manufacturers to revise long-term contract terms and make greater use of formula-based pricing. At the same time, interest in aluminum conductors is growing where project specifications allow their use.
As a result, effective raw material risk management and production optimization have become increasingly important for manufacturers.
Today's market places new demands on manufacturers.
Customers evaluate not only product pricing but also technical expertise, the ability to develop customized solutions, testing capabilities, delivery reliability, and comprehensive project support throughout every stage of implementation.
Demand is particularly strong for cables used in the energy, industrial, transportation, data center, telecommunications, and high-tech manufacturing sectors.
In Russia, demand for cable and wire products is being driven by projects in the energy, industrial construction, transportation, communications, and telecommunications sectors.
At the same time, manufacturers are operating in an environment of high financing costs, rising material prices, and intensifying competition. Under these conditions, technological innovation, production modernization, and the development of new products have become increasingly important.

The key trends shaping the cable industry are reflected at Cabex, the International Exhibition for Cable and Wire Products, Equipment, and Materials for Cable Manufacturing.
Each year, manufacturers and suppliers showcase their latest products and technologies, discuss industry developments, and hold meetings with representatives from the energy, construction, mechanical engineering, telecommunications, transportation, and other key industries.
Cabex 2027 will take place on March 2–4, 2027, at the Timiryazev Center in Moscow, once again bringing together cable manufacturers, equipment and material suppliers, and industry professionals seeking new technologies and business opportunities. Book a stand
