Cabex 2026 Results: Statistics and Exhibitor Feedback

From 10 to 12 March 2026, the Timiryazev Center hosted the 24th International Exhibition of Cable and Wire Products, Equipment and Materials for their Production, Cabex – the main event of the cable industry, bringing together all active market players.

The opening ceremony featured welcome speeches by distinguished guests, including Maxim Tretyakov, President of the Electrocable Association, Alexander Kodachigov, General Director of VNIIKP (the All-Russian Scientific Research and Development Cable Institute), and Alexander Shtalenkov, General Director of MVK Exhibition Company.

This year, the exhibition brought together over 200 companies from Russia, China, Turkey, India, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.

The event attracted more than 4,000 industry professionals, with 50% attending for the first time. The majority of visitors – 96% – were from Russia (68% from Moscow and the Moscow Region, 28% – from other regions), while 4% represented international companies from Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Gabon, India, the UAE, and Morocco.

Visitor profile by business activity: representatives of industrial enterprises – 39%; specialised trade companies – 20%; construction and installation organisations – 11%; mechanical engineering and instrumentation – 8%; manufacturers of materials and equipment for the cable industry – 8%; energy sector – 4%; communications and telecommunications – 3%; oil and gas sector – 2%; other – 5%.

A total of 69% of visitors were company executives, deputy executives, and department heads.

The business programme included the International Science and Technology Conference named after Professor I.B. Peshkov – "Cable Industry. Science. Technology. Production" – as well as thematic sessions addressing key industry challenges. 44 speakers and more than 250 delegates took part in the business programme events.

The exhibition was co-organised by JSC VNIIKP (the All-Russian Scientific Research and Development Cable Institute) and the Electrocable Association. Xinming acted as the general sponsor, and RusCable.Ru as the general information partner.

Featured Products and Exhibitor Feedback

This year, 55 companies participated in Cabex for the first time, including BNG Compounds, Colorflex, Conplast, Elektrobetonstroy, Flexicore, Galvanit Evro, GrinEnergosnab, KBT Electrotechnical Plant, LG Chem, Megarex, Minskcable, Nortex, New Industrial Technologies, Ossberger, Promrukav, SenteK, Tehinvest-M, Energo Taganrog Cable Plant, Uglich Plast, Aquairy, Arismo Engineering, VIP Consult, and others.

The exhibition showcased cable and wire products, materials and manufacturing equipment for their production, as well as electrical installation equipment, power electronics, automation systems, and more.

Raytech, a developer and manufacturer of cable accessories, presented screened adapters capable of restoring power supply in damaged cable lines up to 35 kV in under 30 minutes. The company’s Technical Director, Igor Markelov, commented: “Screened adapters are currently in high demand in 10-35 kV power networks – we are featuring this product in the innovation contest for one of its unusual applications. Thanks to this exhibition, we maintain the image of a professional company in our field. This is our event. You can't have a cable without joints, which means the Cabex exhibition cannot do without us. We plan to participate again next year.”

U-Technology Group, a supplier of equipment for the cable industry, demonstrated a Honta F630 double twist machine in operation. The company's CEO, Dmitry Deleychuk, noted the importance of thorough preparation for successful work at the stand: “We analysed the previous exhibition, reviewed the equipment presented and competitors’ positioning, and drew conclusions. We also took into account that many exhibitors do not start up the equipment they display. We decided to demonstrate the double twist line in operation, show the resulting product, and give visitors a chance to experiment with the settings and speeds. As a result, we sold it on the very first day.”

Elektrotechnmash, a manufacturer of cable and wire products, presented an expanded line of Etmikab cables at the exhibition. Sales Director Nikita Ashikhmin shared his impressions: "The exhibition is highly relevant – it is the main event of the cable world. It is a wonderful opportunity to hold meetings and negotiations with both existing and new partners. As a marketing tool, the exhibition is beneficial for both the buyer and the product manufacturer. The goals we set for ourselves have definitely been achieved. We have gained a pool of new contacts, and we found common ground with the exhibition participants regarding the purchase of necessary materials and new equipment."

Industrial Group MKZ presented a wide range of cable products. Maxim Strelkin, Sales Director, shared his opinion on the new exhibition venue: “We really liked the new venue – it is more convenient to get to, the metro is closer, and there is free parking nearby. Our expectations from participating were fully met. Despite the fact that we had twice as many staff working at the stand, negotiations started at 9 AM and did not stop until 3 PM. Both new and existing partners came one after another. The exhibition helps to bring people closer and establish personal contact, which is impossible to achieve by communicating only over the phone.”

Chuangzhan Intelligent Technology presented energy-efficient cable manufacturing equipment, including extrusion lines for specialty cables. Commercial Director Yuan Jiaodi shared her impressions of the exhibition: “This is our second year exhibiting – we are interested in having our equipment operate in Russia. As expected, there was a large flow of visitors at the exhibition, and we were constantly busy answering questions and sharing experiences with customers and potential partners. We are also planning to participate again next year to gradually grow our business in Russia.”

Business Programme

As part of the exhibition’s business programme, the International Science and Technology Conference named after Professor I.B. Peshkov – "Cable Industry. Science. Technology. Production" – was held alongside thematic sessions addressing current issues in the cable industry. Particular attention from the audience was drawn to presentations delivered during the sessions “Cable Industry: Standards, Safety, Quality, and Control. Cable Solutions in Modern Construction” and “Cable Industry: Raw Materials, Materials, Technologies, and Equipment for Cable Production”.

Traditionally, the “Best Innovative Product” competition was held as part of the exhibition. Following its results, the winning companies were selected, whose innovative solutions were recognised as the most promising and significant for the development of the cable industry.

An expert jury comprising specialists from VNIIKP and the Electrocable Association selected the winners in two categories:

Cable and Wire Products

I place – "Elektrokabel" Kolchugino Plant and VNIIKP for their joint work on developing
a self-supporting overhead covered conductor for 20 and 35 kV.
II place –"Paritet" сable plant for developing a patch cord with a jacket made
of polyurethane and other materials.
III place – "Spetskabel" for medical cables.

Electrical Installation Products

I place – "Izolyator-VV" for dry-type terminations.
II place – "Raytech" for shielded adapters.

The business programme culminated in the award ceremony for the "Marketing Under Voltage" competition, which challenged participants to demonstrate their effectiveness in attracting partners and visitors to the exhibition. The winners and runners-up received commemorative diplomas and gifts.
